My First Rejection

I'm going to camp next month.

NaNoWriMo has spawned at least two additional sessions of writing a novel in a month. These are in April and July, under the auspices of Camp NaNoWriMo. Because I've been having a tough time finishing up my sequel to Faith, Hope, and Murder, I've decided to go to camp this July. I'm hoping that being in a "cabin" with a bunch of like-minded writers will inspire me to put my butt in the chair every day and get this story done.

Tucson - The Real Southwest

I think it's clear from what I've written on this blog that I love Tucson. I think it's one of the great secrets of the United States. We'd prefer not to keep it a secret, but that's been kind of difficult.

How many people think of Tucson as a tourist destination? I'll wait... Yeah, that's what I thought.

If you think of visiting the Southwest at all, you'll probably think of Santa Fe or Albuquerque or Scottsdale. Those southwestern cities have done a much better job of marketing themselves than Tucson has.

The Great Creator

Here's what I like about God. Trees are crooked, mountains are lumpy, a lot of his creatures are funny-looking, and he made it all anyway. He didn't let the aardvark convince him he had no business designing creatures. He didn't make a puffer fish and get discouraged. No, the maker made things--and still does.
